Prawns

Prawns are larger in size, and have larger legs with claws on three pairs. They have branching gills.

Shrimp are smaller, have shorter legs and have claws only on two pairs. Their gills are lamellar, i.e. plate-like.

I love these prawns..I ate a lot of it..

Funny, I enjoy peeling the shrimp, pulling that tasty morsel out and into my mouth is part of the experience. They sure do look yummy!

I never knew the difference, either, and, like Roger, I always wondered. Thanks for the information!

I have to confess I am a lazy prawn eater. I don't like eating unshelled prawns. Too lazy to de-shell them so I'll just give them a pass.
